About the Artist and her paintings and writings.....

Lynne's photo.jpeg

Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, Lynne has hometown roots. However, being from a military family, she has traveled extensively in the Southeastern USA and Europe. Returning to Clarksville in the late sixties, she graduated from Austin Peay State University with a teaching degree in art and English. Her first teaching assignment was at her alma mater, Clarksville High School. She continued to teach in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System until retiring in 2007.

After retirement, Lynne began to expand her passion of the visual arts by donating paintings to non-profits to use for fundraising. Recipients of Lynne's generosity include Clarksville Rotary Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Austin Peay State University, City of Clarksville, Montgomery County Government, Clarksville Salvation Army, Clarksville Bikers Who Care, Pennyrile Child Advocacy Center, Nashville Multiple Sclerosis Society, Gold Star Wives, Love Lights a Tree American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project, and Chi Omega Women's Fraternity among many other organizations.

As part of her art, Lynne embeds symbolism the viewer must seek; an owl for wisdom and a heart for love. This adds a touch of whimsy to make one smile.

Lynne's new book STILLNESS OF SPIRIT embodies her spiritual journey through her life and work.
